June 15, 2001

IPCUTSOT Members:

As a fellow member of Illinois Power Customers United to Save Our Trees
(IPCUTSOT), we hope you are having a good summer. We realize we haven't
had many meetings since Illinois Power withdrew its Vegetation Management
Tariff from the Illinois Commerce Commission and this letter is to inform
you on what is happening with our group while we wait for the next step in
this long process.

First and foremost we would like to invite all of you to participate in the
Champaign County Freedom Celebration Parade on the 4th of July. Those of
you with small children will be able to ride in an 18-foot flatbed trailer!
Please invite your friends and family who would like to be a part of our
entry in the parade. The theme of this year's parade is "A Celebration of
American Parks and Recreation." Help show your support saving our urban
forests and parks by being a part of the 4th of July Parade!

To participate in the parade, please wear green shirts and khaki pants or
shorts, and/or your Save Our Trees buttons in order to represent unity
within our group. Participants will be asked to be at the parade starting
point at Lincoln and Illinois Street between 12:00 (noon) and 12:45 p.m. If
you have any questions, would like to participate in decorating the trailer,
contact Kyra Shair at 356-1265 (email: kshair at advancenet.net) or Mary
Schlembach at 359-9155 (email: schlemba at uiuc.edu) for more information.

We also invite you to attend a General Session Meeting that will be held at
the Champaign Public Library, 719 N. Randolph at 7:30 pm on June/July ,
2001. This meeting is open to IPCUTSOT members only and we will be planning
our role when Illinois Power files a new tariff.

If you are unable to participate in the parade and/or the General Meeting,
please consider donating to our fundraising activities. We continue to
accept tax deductible donations of $25.00 for green ribbons to tie to trees,
and donations of $1.00 for a Save Our Trees button. Mail your checks,
payable to ISEN/Save Our Trees, to 110 N. Race, Urbana, IL 61801.

Regards,

IPCUTSOT Executive Committee
