1.  Light the Night Walk Planning Meeting begins August 15, 6:00 p.m. for 
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  For anyone interested in assisting with the 
planning of the walk, or to get more information on building a Light the Night 
Team, and to volunteer for the night of the walk. Team packets will be 
available at the meeting.  For more information contact Jenny Cheek or Judy

2.  Summer Adopt-A Thon from Champaign County Humane Society is in need of 
volunteers to assist adopters in getting animals in and out of cages, 
socialize with dogs and cats when there are no adopters waiting for help. Aug 
15, 2003 (11 am to 9 pm), Aug 16, 2003 (11 am to 9 pm), Aug 17, 2003 (11 am to 
6 pm).  For more information please contact Julie Keith (217) 344-7297.

3.  Urbana Business Association is having their 28th Urbana Sweetcorn 
Festival.  The Urbana Business Association needs many volunteers for the 
variety of jobs to make this festival sucessful.  Who can resist the festival 
mascot, Corny??  Corny and the assistant will wander the festival shaking 
hands, getting your picture taken, etc. You are the celebrity of the event! 
Volunteers are needed to make sure folks entering the festival do not bring in 
coolers and beverages, and when they leave they do not take the alcohol 
outside the festival boundaries. If you like music of any kind, this is the 
place to hang out. Roadies will help the bands set up and tear down for their 
performances.  We have all kinds of music; maybe there is a band to suit your 
taste.  Sell tickets for food and beverages at the best festival in C-U!  This 
is the spot where you can see and be seen!  Everyone has to have a ticket to 
make a purchase!  Assist with 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  Help with 
registration, and assist referees as needed.  Volunteers needed Aug 22, 2003 
(5:00 - 8:00 p.m.), Aug 23, 2003 (10:45 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.).  For more
