Strategic planning- Create strategic agenda of what we'd like to be in 5
years. From there create an action plan for 1st year, divide
responsibilities of action items, and execute. After one year, we'll
review the progress and create an action plan for the next year. Smaller
group discussions will take place over the summer.

(See Framework document. Copies available in store. We went over the
planning process and timeline.)

(See Summary of CGFC History document. Copies available in store. We went
over this- info printed below was added at the meeting but was not included
in the document.)

History of coop- Clint
30 years ago CGFC started with volunteers getting in a van and distributing
food. 13 original members? Sometimes had no staff, has had general store
manager, up to 7 paid staff. Volunteers were important.

Neighborhood was more diverse, less student dominated, low income. Program
of IDF, emphasis on social justice in the way that we sell food, education
has been a big part- teaching about economics of food, local farmers, fair
trade etc.

Determined Value Keywords- sets the stage for planning process
(See Framework document for starting list)

After much discussion, we added the underlined:
Healthy and just workplace
Community control and local control: Linking consumers with producers (on a
local rather than a larger level). Community asset controlled by local people.
Alternative economic model.

Support community control of food web

Not for profit (linked to alternative economic model) (is it a value or a
legal definition). All cooperatives are not profit making enterprises- no
share holders, etc.
Community asset- building community wealth, controlled and maintained by
the people. Ownership. Local resource that you can get plugged into without
having been authorized. Building local community.
Promoting equitable access to food. Diversity including socio-economic
diversity (of membership)

Enabling access for everyone

Build local community assets/wealth. (infrastructure, asset is a locally
made decision)
Support local economy.

Not for profit, people before profits

Empowerment of consumer, consumer advocacy

Mechanism for getting feedback. Each lever group keeps and posts minutes in
two ways: 1) CGFC email listserve, 2) bulletin board in store. There will
be a drop box in the store for suggestions by members.

Description of lever groups and topics for discussion. Facilitators include
a board member and coordinator.
Social/ Demographics: Traci Barkley
Finances- Maneesh Shanhbag, Richard Antisdel, Lisa Haynes
Outreach/ Impact- Sue Gallo, Lisa Bralts-Kelly
Physical Infrastructure- Clint Popetz, Jill Baer
Organizational Structure- Jeannie Higgs, Molly Stentz

People should record not just the issues, problems but also the potential
solutions- report those back to the general membership group. System will
be developed by facilitators and board to standardize assessment and
reporting back to group (later this summer).

Broke into small groups. Members of each group signed in on sign-up sheet,
set next meeting time and briefly went over topics for discussion at next
meeting.

Pizza at meeting was provided by Jessy Ruddell. Delicious! She and Sara
Methany are co-owners of ZARAMAMA: URBANIAN CUISINE and are available for
catering locally produced, organic food. Business card is in store for
those interested.

Thanks to those who organized the meeting and for everyone who attended and
will be part of this exciting visioning process!!
