SYNOPSIS
Filmed in the winter of 2001-2002, zero.two.seven.four. is an emotional
and somewhat disturbing story about corporations, a drug, a death,
and a trial. Monica George had no concerns when her doctor prescribed
Rezulin for her type-2 diabetes: at least not until her body began
falling apart. After her death it was obvious to her family and her
doctors that something had gone seriously wrong with her medication.
Forced by their conscience and their mother's memory, Monica George's
three daughters begin a search for accountability; one that climaxes
in a Rockville, Maryland courtroom where they take on Pfizer, the
largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Two attorneys, Rainey
Booth and Zoe Littlepage, represent the family against an army of over
100 defense lawyers in a trial that seemingly would never end⦠The
film paints a sad portrait of justice in corporate America that is all
the more relevant with society's descent into a nameless, faceless
outlook on human life.

The film was shot on digital video with two cameras; The Canon XL1 and
the Canon GL1. The film was edited April through June 2002 on
Macintosh G4 with Final Cut Pro and DV Studio Pro. The film was
directed by George Cowgill and edited by Jason Wasserman and George
Cowgill.

THE CREW
Director and Producer:
George Cowgill
After studying film at a small liberal arts college, George Cowgill
spent the last few years writing screenplays, bartending, and
traveling. In the summer of 2001 he began following a series of trials
that were set to begin in the fall. He secured funding for a
full-length film documenting the events and began production on
zero.two.seven.four. with the help of a three-man crew. This film is
his first full-length project and was created with a true D.I.Y. (do
it yourself) attitude. He is currently working on his next project, a
movie about boxing, that will be filmed in New York City. George lives
in Pensacola, Florida with his daughter, Janey.

Editor/ Second Camera
Jason Wasserman
After graduating college in December of 2001, and leaving for a tour
with his band, None But Burning, Jason Wasserman was unsure of what
the future would hold, when longtime friend George Cowgill called
him and asked if he'd be interested in helping make a film. While
his experience was mostly in live audio production, he took
advantage of the opportunity, in the process becoming familiar with
various aspects of film, including, photography and editing. He
lives in Birmingham, Alabama and is currently working on various
projects, including a documentary about his band, and preparing for
graduate school in the fall.

Director of Photography
Shukree Tilghman
Shukree Tilghman has been working in the film and television industry
since graduating from NYU Film in early 2001, where he was one of the
few students to receive the Martin Scorsese Scholarship. His
experience includes work as a production assistant, assistant
producer, grip, and director of photography on several film projects.
He has also amassed experience producing, directing, and writing a
number of his own works while in school and since graduating.
Currently, Shukree is writing his second feature film script and is in
preproduction for two projects he will direct. Shukree currently
resides in New York and works as a freelancer in that city as well as
in Philadelphia.
