I'm making this more or less final. 6-8 should be plenty of time,
right? Three hours seems long. This will be the text that I start
sending out to people:

You're Invited!

On June 3, 2010, from 6-8pm I'm co-hosting an Open House to introduce
the MakerSpace Urbana to friends and colleagues and to raise funds to
for this important project. I hope you will join me for an evening of
food, fun, and an introduction to the Makerspace.

Makerspace Urbana is a community electronics lab dedicated to enabling
the blend of arts, humanities, science and technology. Our mission is
to provide an open community lab where people of diverse backgrounds
can learn, teach, tinker, collaborate, share, innovate, socialize, and
create. A small group of colleagues and I have been working for the
past six months to build our lab and we would be honored if you would
attend our first Open House!

We're located at 202 S. Broadway Ave in Urbana at the Urbana-Champaign
Independent Media Center

(IMC). Come learn about the cool things we're working on, what we have
planned for our community and how you can help. Stay for a tour of our
fledgling laboratory.

If you can't wait until June to stop by, visit during our open hours
every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm and every Saturday from noon to 2pm.
Makerspace Urbana is in suite 15 in the basement of the Independent
Media Center.
