[UCIMC-Tech] Re-building the IMC video/audio production room...

I've left a message with a former co-worker to see if he knows of any place
where we can get cables and equipment. 

The software that I have is Pinnacle which is an AVID product that runs on a
PC...I'm not sure how well it would work on MAC but I am willing to share
it.

Avid also has free editing software available for download to anyone who
wishes to try the product.

The basic editing ability is there, but it might be a challenge to do some
things with it and there is not expiration date on this. 

Also I have a gallon of green paint that can be used to create a chroma key
background. I have not seen the production room, but I do think that if we
can get a wall (or a huge screen) painted with this color we can then key in
any background behind whatever it is that is being shot. 

Hopefully I will make it to the CU Citizens meeting at the IMC tomorrow and
will try to check the room out.

Hey All,

Anyone have any alright to nice to awesome video/audio
equipment/software they want to donate to the U-C IMC Production room?

We need everything with some examples below:
newer computer hardware (cpu, motherboard, ram, hdds, etc.)
--we have plenty of server grade cases, but could use quiet fans
--we could also use newer Mac hardware/software (we have a few older g4s
and g3s)
studio microphones
microphone stands
sound proofing material (egg shell foam stuff)
audio tuner
cd/dvd player/burners
audio/video cables of all lengths
field recording equipment
--hand held audio/video recorders
video/still cameras
anything else you would want to have in your production studio...

The ideal plan would be to set up the rigs and production workstations
on the nice table top Mike built a couple months ago.  It would also be
nice to clean out the safe, put up egg shell inside, run some cables
into it, and use it as our recording studio (This was a club freestyle
idea I think).
