Hi All,

Something else to keep in mind regarding the donations is - the donor, not
IMC, determines the value if they are requesting documentation for their
taxes. We just use the same letter as we do for monetary donations of $250
and above, or upon request. We have these in the finance office and on the
finance computer. Depending on the value, we may need documentation from the
donor for our annual audit. I'm not sure what the dollar amount is or if it
applies in this instance.

I am in total agreement that ALL donations should be coordinated with the
appropriate working group, or if furniture, direct them to Meme (cced here).
Meme spent a recent Saturday coordinating several carloads of tech recycling
in addition to the hours the tech group spent determining what was useful.
A few months ago, we filled the parking lot up, in part with "donations"
that needed to be disposed of.
