Site Should be Fixed Width:
until someone has a chance to make the banner look good when the site 
is expanded i think the site width should be fixed, and personally i 
think the site looks better when sized to the banner. Fading what 
exists so it eases into black on the right side will not look good. 
This makes the syndicated column look un-attached from the rest.

International connection on press release:
i think its important to speak to the national identity of this site 
and put it in a context of international solidarity instead of 
nationalism. I hope to have time to put a few suggested lines out 
there, but for now i want to put the idea back on the table.
