Given the way that dada releases incremental updates with automatic
installers to it's code, I don't think this will help in this
case. CVS helps with more traditional software packages but now that I
know more about dada I don't think CVS will help us.

You should send a request upstream to the maintainer to allow the
change you want to make to be supported.

All I ask is that you document it in a file so we can remember to make
it next time when an update overwrites your change.
