Hi,
I would like to thank you for putting my "Hands Of Blame" poem on your site. I have another poem i would like to submit (as below):
You Promised You'd Come Home (Where Are You?)

Our tears, our facade
Our life you disregard
Hold us down and force these masks
This spear which peirces me
It hurts and steals dignity
Who said fear spelt integrity?
I cant take the smell of blood
I dug my elbows in the mud
To hold on to my family
I feel you slipping through my fingers
And you know i have to go
Do you still whisper my name...
I promise i'll be home
Our tears, our facade
Our life you disregard
They held you down and forced the mask
The spear which peirces you
Its stings, theres nothing you can do
Who said fear spelt black and blue?
You cant take the smell of blood
You dug you elbows in the mud
To hold on to this family
We feel you slipping through our fingers
And we know you have to go
We still whisper your name...
You promised you'd come home

Again, this poem is about the effect of war and i tried to make it sound like a soldier was telling his part and then the response of the family. I dont know the correct term for this kind of prose. But there you have it, enjoy.
                                               Thanks again and take care,
                                                                              Rebecca Innes
