Iraq Surge Researched

Men in blue serge suits
Tell sergeants at arms
"Bring order to Iraq:
Send more canon fodder."

A surge force rises higher,
much higher, toweringly so,
A tsunami in neo-commitment -
But is a 10% hike a surge?

No.  That's spin doctors
Mouthing words, mimicry -
Letting words rise higher;
Feverish madness drools.

Generals opposed a surge;
but politics trumps tactics -
For a fix to avoid defeat -
In opposing public opinion.

Intelligence is again fixed
To fit the pretentious Bush
To be conqueror and king
Overrule resistance by fiat.

A gambler will throw in all,
Every last cent that he has,
Hoping always to beat odds,
Vainly squandering fortunes.
