[Newspoetry] Every Poem is...

Every poem is an experiment,

in what it does by mere words.

We forget that, sometimes.

We forget that we experiment.

I feel safe in a declarative.

A poem is not a declaration,

proclaiming a pulpit truth.

A poem is some artistry,

Dealing with full bodies.

An experiment in living:

present a solid surface,

so unlike what is inside,

underneath smooth skin,

to fully cover meaning;

show one by hiding other,

as blankets wrap tightly.

Show hidden form alone,

not by baring it, rudely,

as naughtiness of nudity.

And forget not any failure,

the usual end experimental,

hunting in the dark for light.
