[Peace-discuss] My hearing June 20th

Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that I have my hearing coming up soon 
and I would like to feel the support of my friends and fellow 
activists as I plead not guilty to the charge of resisting 
/obstructing a peace officer. I have Attorney Harvey Welch defending 
me and I would like to show the judge that misconduct by a police 
officer does not go unnoticed by the People.

If you can arrange your schedule to be an audience member, the 
hearing will take place this Friday, June 20th in Court Room D of the 
Circuit Court, 204 East Main Street, Urbana at 9:00AM.

I think that an audience of  concerned citizens and independent media 
will demonstrate to Champaign police officers and the courtroom that 
the community is concerned about the overreaction of Officer Wills. 
If there is no immediate danger to life an officer is required to 
approach the scene stating "Police! Stop!" not running up in plain 
clothes and tackling a citizen from behind never stating officer 
status.

I believe we can prevent further incidents of misconduct in the 
community by police officers by drawing attention to this case.

If you cannot make the hearing please keep me in your thoughts on that day.
