A small correction, just to clarify for the record (see below):

Subject: Re: [Peace] UPDATE: URBANA MAYOR TORPEDOES DN!/UPTV DECISION
[some text deleted]
: - a few days before the UPTV Commission was to meet to discuss the
: DemocracyNow! proposal (and my proposal to hire an outreach coordinator),
: the meeting was suddenly cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.
I hadn't yet contacted the UPTV Commission at this point, so DN!/FSTV was
not on the agenda for this meeting.
I first contacted the UPTV Commission chair (Barb Gladney) to request an
agenda item for my proposal on June 19th and I first presented my proposal
at the June 21st meeting.
[more below]
: - the next week, i was informed that i had been kicked off the commission,
: where i have been serving for 3 years and have brought in over 40 new
: public access members. the mayor found a legitimate loophole to allow him
: to remove me and so i had no contest.
:
: - the week after, the UPTV Commission met and for the first time in my 3
: years of service, the Mayor was in attendance. my input was relegated to
: the public participation section at the end of the meeting.

Yes, this June 21st meeting was when I first proposed DN!/FSTV to the
Commission.
This is a small correction, but as Danielle says, the politics of this is
getting serious, so I think I should try to keep things as accurate as
possible.
I have a copy of the [unfortunately incomplete] audio recording of the
meeting now and I'll have an extensive report soon, so look for that.
