New day, new developments.

Last night the House Democratic leadership agreed to pressure from
conservative Democrats and dropped the provision barring an unauthorized
attack on Iran from their House version of the supplemental.

It's still possible that the language could be added back on in the
Appropriations Committee, which meets 9AM Thursday.

I just spoke with Johnson's office. I asked them to support adding the
provision back, and to support a deadline for the withdrawal of U.S. troops
in the supplemental.

I would encourage others to do the same. The Congressional switchboard is
202-225-3121.

Rep. Johnson is not on Appropriations, but he can talk to other Republicans
on it. In particular, Ray LaHood, who represents Springfield, is on
Appropriations.
