[Peace-discuss] [Peace] SJP requests attendees for an Illini-PAC event

I'm not sure I agree with David. If my dental procedure of tomorrow allows, I may well go to the meeting simply to tell that soldier (and his admirers) that I think he represents a vile government, a truely terrorist and racist government, if not a population, as recent and ongoing events in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon have shown the world. I hope others (Palestinian supporters) would also appear to make similar observations, and not be fearful of the opprobrium that may come their way from the Israeli apologists attending. My questions would not be respectful.

I really don't know what the Jewish students are feeling at present, but I would want them to hear what others think of their rogue state(s). --mkb

Apologetics for war criminality don't deserve a respectful hearing, and thus in this case, given the location, deserve no hearing at all. Nobody will be there with an open mind. Because the support for Israel among Jewish students is at an alltime low, they're looking for something to spice things up--of course, on their own terms. I wouldn't take the bait. Let them admire each other and bore each other. You wouldn't ask "respectful questions" to a rapist, would you?

We are requesting that any members of AWARE, CAN or ISO who are able to attend will please do so, and bring targeted questions to help raise our voices against the brutality of the Israeli Occupation.
