Interesting to note, the richest 10% of the population own 45% percent of the wealth which is actually an incredibly low figure compared to western standards. 

Also the article brings up the case of Ma Nuo. She is a TV star in China who was temporarily banned from the airwaves after saying "I would rather cry in a BMW than smile on the back of my boyfriend's bicycle." The fact that this statement infuriated both the public and the Communist Party reveals at least a little bit about its current culture.
