[Peace-discuss] state of Illinois Single Payer Bill

Dear all,

Thank you all for your interest in getting  Single Payer health care in
Illinois.  The bill that Senator Mike Noland is introducing tomorrow simply
calls for a feasibility study.  That seemed unnecessary to me, because such
studies have already been done.  But, I just learned that  the Vermont
legislature did a study before they launched their Single Payer bill ( which, I
understand, still has some distance to go before becoming a reality.)

Senator Noland is still a bit shakey about his committments to us, but he is the
only one in the Illinois Senate that I know about who is willing to even talk
about Single Payer.  He needs our support tomorrow.

If you can make it to Springfield, go to Senator Mike Noland's office which is M
115.  Be there by 8:45 AM.

If possible, let us know that you are coming by sending me a return email or
calling me at 847-742-1406.

I'm with Fox Valley Citizens for Peace & Justice and Northern Illinois Jobs with
Justice.

Thanks,

Mary Shesgreen

Subject: state of Illinois Single Payer Bill

Hello Everyone,

I know this is short notice but I just received a phone call from Jobs with
Justice in Elgin Illinois.
State Senator Nolan is wanting to get the ground work started for a State of
Illinois Single Payer Health Care Bill.
He will start this tomorrow morning in Springfield ( about 9am ) and he
desperately needs back-up from all citizens of the State of Illinois, because as
you can imagine, other Senators are timid about taking a stand on this issue due
to the corporate health care lobby.

IF at all possible, please try to make it to the State Capitol Bldg. in
Springfield tomorrow morning at or before 9am, and go to Senator Nolen's office.

More info will follow in an e-mail when I receive it.
