>From Wikipedia:"Many Democrats blame third party candidate Ralph Nader, claiming he split votes with Gore. Nader received 97,000 votes in Florida (for comparison, there were 111,251 overvotes).[64] Additionally, Nader received 22,000 votes in New Hampshire, where Bush beat Gore by 7,000 votes. Either state would have won the election for Gore."  The whole entry is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2000

Jenifer,

With all due respect, you are horribly
misinformed.

Start with Greg Pallast's reporting ( the
freelance reporter who broke the story and offered it to CBS and later the rest
of the corporate media and they refused to cover it until Salon.com broke the
story, then they only covered it superficialy. )

Then see www.blackboxvoting.org

Maybe some others on the list can suggest some
other sources.

David J.

Uh... as I understand it, the FL debacle wouldn't have
made any difference if the Nader folks had voted against
        Bush.

" Look what those Nader votes bro't: "

          Here we go again,
You still don't get it do you
          ?

It was NOT the votes for Nader that
brought Bush and Alito et al,
But instead the STOLEN 2000 election that
your boy Al Gore and the corporate democratic party did NOTHING
          about !

No call for mass protests and general
strikes, which is what happens in REAL democracies when an election is
stolen by fraud, but instead a half ass court case that was not
even appealed. And then blame Nader. The easy way out and
simaltaneously a distraction. Brought to you by the corporate
controlled DNC ( Democratic National Commitee ).

I am PROUD that I voted for Nader and I
REFUSE to buy into the two party shellgame that you
          advocate.
I want REAL change, not phoney
          rhetoric.

The last democratic I voted for and
SUPPORTED at the national level was Dennis Kucinich, and look
what the DNC did to him in collusion with the RNC.

Look where electing Obama and for a while
a dem controlled House and Senate got us......
          No where but WORSE !

Remember Nancy Pelosi on election night
2006 when word came on the corporate media that the Dems had just
taken control of both the House and Senate ?
What were the first words out of her
          mouth.....
" Impeachment is off the table "
          !

Gee, kind of an odd statement from a
leader of the so called " opposition " party. In most democracies in
the world, the head of a REAL opposition political party would have
called for the IMMEDIATE formation of an impeachment hearing and the
begining of reversing specific policies of the Bush
          crime family.
But not from Nancy and the dems, their
main priority was to protect one of their own ( the 1% ) even if he
          played on the other team.

Four years after electing Obama the same
policies of the 1% are being impemented that Obama
supports ; endless war, no public health care, attacks upon the
standard of living of Working people, attempts to privatize social
security and medicare, and the list goes on and on and
          on...!

There will NEVER be change for the better
in this country unless one of three things happen :

          1) Form a third party across the
country whose main platform objective is to REFUSE ANY AND ALL
CORPORATE MONEY and start with local elections, working up to
state races and then on to national races

          2) Take over the democratic party and run
candidates in the primaries who refuse to take CORPORATE MONEY,
against the corporate backed candidates of the DNC and if they lose to
the corporate backed candidates, REFUSE to back
the corporate dem in the general election.
None of this " Oh but I must support
          the party's elected candidate ".

          3) Take over the republican party and
do the same thing as above.

So keep voting for those democrats and
see where it gets us, more of the SAME bullshit !

Best is a relative term. Obama is definitely
the far lesser of two evils. Surely you no NOT want Romney
running things foreign and domestic... naming the next Supreme
Court Justice(s)??? Look what those Nader votes bro't: Geo
Bush and Roberts and Alito. Nuff said.

                    There is no "best"
                    candidate to
                    find.
