I signed a petition to The Illinois State House, The Illinois State Senate, and Governor Pat Quinn which says:

"We the undersigned, believing health care is a human right, call on the General Assembly and the Governor of Illinois to enact House Bill 942 (formerly HB 311), the Illinois Universal Health Care Act. This bill provides:

    A unified public financing plan (single-payer) that covers the healthcare needs of all Illinois residents.

    High quality care, comprehensive benefits, free choice of qualified health care providers, and no financial barriers to care.

    Equitable financing through a fair tax system.

    Public accountability, including significant consumer representation on the plan's governing board."
