[Peace-discuss] [OccupyCU] denial denial, etc etc - Enough, already, please ... Let's talk about real wars, not flame wars.

I like this discussion, and not just for its creative blasphemous
flaming and counter-flaming.

For me this discussion points up some of the real crucial issues in
racism and war.

Prejudice is not removed by argument as another Johnson noted.

If you want to become non-racist it can be useful to transcend race by
getting
above it or going under it.

Going under it one forgets about all racism including one's own race.
Going above it one can see all of the racism and even see the differences
between genetic and cultural ethnicity and how those things interact
and how they lead to interesting follow-on effects.

In my humble opinion there is some truth in what Francis is saying but I
dont
want to be marinated in that line of thinking. Of course it is
offensive to some.
Just because something is offensive doesnt mean it is bad, per se. Some
folks
could benefit from being offended.

If you want to change the world, you will have to evict some memes and
offend some
of those who are the Guardians of those memes.

Paraphrasing R. Crumb -- the purpose is not to be mean, or to be a
bringdown;
the goal is not to make sensitive little girls depressed.

Some folks need to get their head out of the clouds, for others the
problem is more obvious.
