[Peace] New U.N. resolution means no war for at least this year

I don't think the Today Show is the most authoritative source. The
UN resolution may be voted today. According to the NYT, the French
have caved in but the Russians still have concerns. This vote may or
may not happen today. So far the new language has not been in the
NYT, and I take it that this means that it has not been released.
That means that they are probably still haggling.
The US is looking for language that will be ambiguous. Evidently,
the US has agreed to consult with the UN Security Council over
whether or not Iraq is complying with this new resolution, but they
will not agree to wait for a UN vote before going to war. They have
repeatedly said that they want to go to war in the winter because
this is the best weather for wearing protective gear against chemical
or biological warfare. Just because they say this does not mean that
they will follow it. In fact, it could mean that they are trying to
throw us off guard by not expecting something until the winter.
