Bill Davis (a national co-coordinator of VVAW)
Meg Miner (retired Air Force vet)
Ray Parrish (military counselor)
Leah Byron (tentative speaker; Iraq War vet)

On Saturday, April 16th, come hear inside perspectives on the effects of
war. Hear the experiences of vets and issues that face GIs and vets of
the war in Iraq. Following a speech by each panelist, there will be time
reserved for a discussion and questions. The event is free and open to
the public!

Bill Davis is a national coordinator of Vietnam Veterans Against the War
(VVAW), an organization dedicated to fighting for peace, justice, and  the
rights of all veterans. He is also a Vietnam vet and the president of Auto
Mechanics Local 701. Meg Miner is a retired U.S. Air Force vet  and a
librarian in central Illinois. Ray Parrish is a Vietnam-era vet  and the
military counselor for VVAW's Military Counseling Service. Leah  Byron is
tentatively scheduled to speak and is an Iraq War vet.

The Progressive Resource/Action Cooperative (PRC) a multi-issue
multi-tactical activist organization and a registered student organization
at UIUC. The PRC is also a program of the Illinois Disciples Foundation, a
peace with justice campus ministry. The IDF is celebrating its 100th
anniversary this April!

This event is co-sponsored by: 85% Coalition, Activist Forum, Anti-War
Anti-Racism Effort, El Centro por los Trabajadores, School for Designing
a Society, Socialist Forum, St. Jude Catholic Worker House, St. Patrick's
Social Action Committee, UC Friends Meeting, UIUC NORML/SSDP, and Vietnam
Veterans Against the War.

The event will be held on the first floor of the IDF and is wheelchair
accessible. The IDF is located at the NW corner of Springfield and  Wright
in Champaign.
