[Peace] Letters to the President

Greetings,

This Saturday, April 24, we're holding the first session in a 10-week
program called "Letters to the President."
It is a project being headed by Profs. Ruby Mendenhall and Ray Muhammad.
Classes will be held from 1-4 pm at the Boys and Girls Club.

We will be asking students, ages 15-19, to write letters to local, state,
federal officials, and finally President Obama that will be compiled into a
final book project.
The letters will be addressing issues of police and youth violence.
There will be cultural presentations, writing sessions, and food provided.
Our hope is that this will prepare local youth for a college career.
