Another way to reinforce your opposition to SB 1761 is to fill out Senator
Bennett's short survey and post your message on the same page. He also
encourages people to expand on their comment via email. Let's defeat this
illegal, unconstitutional, and unethical bill!

Dear Friends,

Today marks my first 100 days in office. I would like to start off by
thanking all the residents of the 52nd Senate District for sharing their
input and concerns. We look forward to working with you on ensuring our
communities are well represented in Springfield.

In the last 100 days, I have hosted nine town hall meetings, two senior
workshops, mobile DMV office hours and visited with various groups and
residents. We still have a lot to accomplish. I can’t stress how important
it is for me to communicate with you. Do you prefer regular e-newsletters?
Town hall meetings? Senior fairs?

Please take a second to take this survey to help me understand the best way
to connect with the residents of the 52nd Senate District.

*Making sure Government works for you*

[image: Senator Bennett]Taxpayers will have a better understanding of
government boards’ work under my first legislative measure to advance to
the House.

We need to engage more people in the democratic process. Making this
information readily available will help keep people informed and engaged.
We should embrace technology to promote government transparency and
accessibility to taxpayers.

Senate Bill 1339 requires government boards to post video on their websites
of the board meeting within two business days. This would apply to boards
where the governor appoints at least one member who is confirmed by the
Senate.

Second, the proposal would require those boards to post their public
meeting agendas at least 72 hours prior to meeting, except in cases of
emergency meetings. The current posting requirement is only 48 hours. Click
here to read more.
