***Halloween Funfest! 10/28/05
We need approx. 20 volunteers to help us put on a Haunted
House as a part of our annual Halloween Funfest. This event
will be held at Lincoln Square Village on Friday, Oct. 28th
from 5:30 till 8 pm. We need volunteers to be Guides through
the Haunted House. These folks will help lead people through
the Haunted House, one volunteer at the head of the group,
and one at the end (tail) of the group.

Then we also need volunteers to be Characters within the
Haunted House. These folks need to dress in costume and
scare the people going through the house. (but not too
badly, we try to gear the house to younger kids, so it's not
so terrifying).

There will be an orientation for volunteers helping with the
Haunted House on Thursday, Oct. 27th (the day before the
event) at Lincoln Square at both 6:30 and 7 pm. The meeting
will take no more than an hour, and will be held twice. So
if folks want to come to one or the other, they can.

Email Betsy if you are interested and to arrange rides to
both the orientation and actual Halloween Funfest this
Friday at brodri2 at uiuc.edu

***CU Special Recreation Ghoulish Overnight from 7-11pm this
Friday Oct. 28th. Food, games, dressing up...what's not to
like??!! Email Brittany if interested at bkwhite2 at uiuc.edu

***YMCA Afterhours this Saturday from 7-10pm, playing
basketball, hanging out and eating free pizza with junior
high kids! Email Kristina at kfranke at uiuc.edu

***Aquachiefs Swim Meet: The task is simple — timing
swimmers. The rewards are small — smiles from young
swimmers. We could use 4 to 8 volunteers on the mornings of
November 5 & 6 (7:30 AM to 12:30 PM) to help us time the
swimmers. Timing is a critical step in our running the
meet. The meet is a fundraiser for our swim team, the
Aquachiefs (www.Aquachiefs.org). In addition, we dedicate
this meet to the memory of Erin Block, who swam with the
Aquachiefs for about 8 years. Erin recently lost her battle
to cancer. In Erin’s memory, the Aquachiefs will donate $1
of every meet admission to a local pediatric cancer charity.
-If you are interested in helping with this than email me at
ctrimarc at uiuc.edu

Thanks in advance and have a great Halloween weekend if I
don't see you at one of the events!
-Claire

ps Application deadline was extended to Wednesday for those
still interested in being on the VIP Board of Directors!
