[Vip-recreation] SUMMER VOLUNTEERING!!!

Are you going to be in Champaign for the summer?

There are TONS of volunteer opportunities!!! Read through 
the list below and if you are at all interested let me know 
and I will give you more information:)

DON MOYER
Do you like kids?  Do you want a flexible volunteer 
opportunity?  Then come help out at the afterschool club 
with summer camp and various other programs.  The club is 
located on University and 2nd St.

COACHING
Do you want to help coach baseball, softball, or T-ball?  
Urbana and Champaign Park District have leagues that need 
your help throughout the whole summer.  There are a variety 
of age groups available.

YMCA
Do you want to run your own special activities class?  The 
YMCA is looking for people to help run classes in 
health/fitness, poetry, music/dance, science, and art.  Even 
if you can only volunteer one hour a week they would still 
love your help!

VIRGINIA THEATRE
The theatre has movies all the time that they need help 
running.  Help with concessions, ticket taking, merchandise 
etc and get to watch the movie:)

PRAIRIE FARM
Help care for animals at the facility.

SPRINGER CULTURAL CENTER
Help run childrens day camps

MOW SENIOR LAWNS
There are senior citizens in the community who need help 
mowing their lawn every week.  Very easy to do and you get 
to enjoy the nice summer weather at the same time!

UPCOMING ONE TIME EVENTS: 

May 20:  Relay for Life.  Come help assist children with 
games and activities as well as set up and clean up the 
event.

June 16-18: Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games at ISU!  
Come help run the event and cheer on the athletes in 
aquatics, bocce ball, soccer, and track and field!  

June 17:  StreetFest.  Come help set up the event and run 
booths of varies activities.

June 17:  Strawberry Jam bluegrass festival
