1. Already volunteering?  Looking to work on community projects AND earn
academic credit?  LINC:  Learning in Community is a 3-hour, campus-wide
course emphasizing project management, teamwork, leadership, and community
engagement.  Current LINC projects include: helping Habitat for Humanity
create a resale store, developing horticulture projects for children and
young adults with severe disabilities, tackling the problem of arsenic in
the water of the people of Bangladesh, designing and implementing outdoor
classrooms for local elementary and jr. high kids.  HOW TO REGISTER:
Listed for Fa03 as ENG 199 and LAS 199, section LNC.  Meets Tues
(3:00-3:50 pm)/TH (3:00-4:50 pm). To learn more about all LINC projects

2. The Mahomet Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday April 19th at
Lake of the Woods Park.  They need volunteers to help set up, clean up,
check volunteers in, help with games and booths, a couple of people to
wear the Easter Bunny and Duck costumes, etc. Activities will be from
11:00am to 3:00pm with the egg hunt starting at 2:30.  Set up will start

*3. Become part of the first Boneyard Arts Festival! Help sell t-shirts,
40North membership and give general festival information. During each
shift volunteers will get to see performances and experience exhibitions
by local artists. All volunteers will receive complimentary tickets to the
Boneyard Closing Party, April 19, 8pm @ Canopy Club. Contact Megan Wolf at
351-9841 for more information.

4. Office of Volunteer Programs is hosting their next Dialogue on Civic
Engagement next week on April 17th to discuss "Activism: A Single Voice
Can Make a Change."  The dialogue will be held in 404 Illini Union at 7pm.
Dinner will be provided, so please RSVP to volson at uiuc.edu or 277 Illini
Union ASAP.  Come and bring your passion, power, and wisdom as we together
to listen, catalyze, and connect students to powerfully impact lives
through politics and service.

*5. Linda Francis is looking for anyone with a greenthumb!!! They need to
remove debris in backyard/raking leaves; placement of wood chips dismantling
rabbit hutch, tree platform and removal (rototill) landscape hill, and plant

*6. The Reading Group is looking for volunteers to distribute Reading
Group resource material and summer program information to businesses.

*7. The Urban League (Education TEEN Reach Program) needs volunteers to
come and help with reading and math skills with students.  Contact Sascha
