1. The Office of Volunteer Programs is looking for a few good students to
work next academic year!  Potential employees need to support student
involvement in community service.  Various tasks include interacting with
students and community organizations, connecting students with volunteer
opportunities, researching community organizations and their volunteer
needs, planning events to promote service, maintaining website, tracking
systems, listserv, and other record-keeping, supporting projects of fellow
staff members.  Not to mention, you get to work in the coolest office on
campus.

If you are bright, motivated individual and possess a commitment to
service, a helpful attitude, and the ability to work independently, then
this job is for you!  Federal Work Study Students are encouraged to apply.

2. Champaign County Nursing Home is having a Carnival day held on May 13th
from 2:00-3:30.  They need volunteers for face painting, clown, animal
balloons, magic, juggle, music, or your own special carnival talent.  For
more information contact Kalah McGraw at (217) 384-3784.

3. Court Appointed Special Advocate, CASA volunteers are ordinary people
who are committed to doing what is best for a child who has been neglected
or abused. All our volunteers are trained in courtroom procedure, social
services, the juvenile justice system, and the special needs of abused and
neglected children. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice
for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a
safe, loving home where he/she can thrive. We welcome volunteers from all
cultures, professions, and ethnic and educational backgrounds.  Contact

4. Reassurance calling is provided by Family Service of Champaign County
and have senior citizens who have requested someone to contact them by
telephone once a day.  Calls are made 6 mornings a week, Monday through
Saturday from 8:30a.m. and 10:30a.m.  Contact Luedella Patterson for more
information at (217) 352-5100.

5. Christie Clinic's 20th Annual Run for the Health of it, needs
volunteers for various aspects of the race (set-up, on the course, finish
line/runners, finish line/5k walk, registration & awards, first aid,
scoring, timing, clean-up, courtesy, health fair).  It will be held on
April 26th from 7:00am-11:00am.  Contact Kelly Schaudt for more

6. RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) has children who need
support and help.  Volunteers are needed to help with homework, computers,
and serve snacks on Mon, Wed, Thurs, and Fri from 3:30-5:30.  Please
