Hello, Volunteers.

 

This week's listserv was a long one, but I wanted to call your attention to two key items: The Volunteer Recognition Event, an event that will provide free food and bowling as a way to express our thanks to you for being a volunteer; and the Paid Student Office Assistant Positions, a way to work with other students on campus who are interested in volunteering. See below for more information. 

 

*Volunteer Recognition Event

Come and join us in celebrating National Volunteer Week by recognizing UIUC volunteers. The event will take place on Friday, (TOMORROW) APRIL 22 at NOON to 2pm in the Illini Union Rec Room (in the basement of the Illini Union). You can stop in anytime; The awards will be given out at 12 to 12:30, and the rest of the time will be for fun. There will be food, bowling, and a whole lot of fun! If you're interested in celebrating with us, please stop by the Office of Volunteer Programs (Rm. 277 Illini Union) and pick up a button, it will be your entry ticket into the event. *Office of Volunteer Programs: Paid Office Assistant Positions for 2005/2006

The Office of Volunteer Programs is looking for office assistants for the next academic year.  Don't fret - this position is PAID.  This job requires a 10-12 hour commitment per week.  The office is open between 9am-5pm.  On occasion, nights and weekends may be requested; however, the bulk of the work is during office hours.  Applicants must have a strong background in community service and volunteerism.  Tech skills will be highly valued (website management, Excel, etc). If you are interested in applying, pick up an application at 420 Illini Union (in the Employment Office).  When filling out the application, specify that the application is for the OVP position.
